Craig Mitchell

CRAIG MITCHELL

Became involved in design as both a sculptor and a builder. His unusual approach to materials (using found objects and other recycled elements in his work) has given him a unique range and distinction in his design explorations.

Being structurally oriented, his work is engineered with balance, precision, and integrity; a refined synthesis that combines high design with strength and durability. His is the eye of the sculptor applied to functionality with ergonomic intent.

Craig has been involved in three dimensional design and construction since his days at Chico State University, where he got his degree in sculpture and psychology. All aspects of the natural world suffuse and inspire his creations. Sonoma County has been his home for over thirty years, and this exceptional eco-system is the foundation of his inspiration.
